My Review of Guess Who Is in God's Family by Karen Ferguson

This children’s picture book is a wonderful tool to teach from. The Illustrations are pretty and bright with one on every turn of the page. This is the second book in the Questions for Kids series.

The book opens with Lucy with a family album and Grandpa shares who they are and then uses it as a segue to open the Bible and read to her.

The focus is on the diversity of God’s creation of people and what transpired in the Garden of Eden. The story takes the reader or listener to the beginning of time when God created people.

The pictures show the beautiful garden and the tree in the middle called the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It’s where sin entered through temptation by use of a snake by Satan.

The telling continues and describes the result of sin and the God’s rescue plan. In the back are Vocabulary Words and Questions to ask the little one. I think there could’ve been more vocabulary words like Tempt and Consequences. So the reader should be prepared to stop and answer those at the time they appear.

Overall, this is an excellent book to teach the love of God through diversity and when and how sin entered into our lives. I love it that the book doesn’t end there but teaches that God has a rescue plan. Also, in the back are verses from the Bible supporting the themes in the book. I think this book is a wonderful tool to help children understand what happened in the garden and continues on.

I give this helpful and educational book, 5 stars.
